AI Explored in New “Making Of” Trailer for Turok

Written by admin, on Jan 24, 2008 - 04:01

To be honest, when I first heard there was a new Turok game in the works, my initial was mostly, “meh.” Now that more media has come out for it though, I’m kind of intrigued with how this FPS with dinosaurs is coming to together. This newest video from the developers of the new Turok game explores the AI of both the humans and the dinosaurs. Since the dinosaurs are programmed to attack any threats almost blindly, they can be tricked into attacking your enemies or even each other. Besides that, the human opponents in the game possess all the weapons and tactics that you have, which they’ll use to try and take you down.

Story and Design Explored in New Trailer for Turok

Written by admin, on Jan 17, 2008 - 05:19

Last week’s “Making of” video for Turok had the development team discussing how they first approached creating a brand new game for the franchise. This new video delves more into the details of the game, like story and the conceptual design. Apparently Turok is an outsider with his new squad and isn’t trusted by them initially, which might explain how he ends up doing a lot of solo missions throughout the game. The video also shows some of the initial concept designs that eventually became the game. Next week’s behind-the-scenes video is supposed to explore the AI in the game and the dinosaurs, which is really the main thing this game has going for it.

Portal 2 Multiplayer?

Written by admin, on Jan 12, 2008 - 07:09

2.jpgHalf-Life 2: The Orange Box’s Portal first-person puzzle game project lead Kim Swift has stated that future Portal developments will depend on the community’s reactions, saying, “We’re still playing it by ear at this point, figuring out if we want to do multi-player next, or Portal 2, or release map packs.” She even touched on possible added multiplayer modes in a sequel by saying “but as far as multiplayer goes, we’ve experimented technology-wise in terms of getting it to work, but haven’t really gone into the details of what the gameplay would be like.”With lots of blog from MTV and at Joystiq asking their readers (the community’s reaction talked about above) whether or not Portal should have a sequel. We thought we should ‘weigh’ in on the question as well by answering loud and clearly “YES! Valve, we do want us some Portal 2!

After all, if you finished Portal 1, you know that something or someone is “Still Alive”.

Viking: Battle for Asgard - Blood, Monsters and Vikings, Oh My!

Skarin, the viking hero of Creative Assembly and SEGA’s latest venture Viking: Battle for Asgard, is one foreboding, hulking, blond guy who would as soon rip your arm off as smile at you. When I first looked at these screens, I thought to myself that if Uwe Boll ever make a movie of this, Dolph Lundgren should play him. Well, maybe if it was made in the 80’s he could pull it off. At any rate, I have no idea why the Dolphster crossed my mind, but now I cannot get him out of it and now I am annoyed to no end …….. anyway, ignore my incoherent babble and just enjoy the new screenshots.

Theater Shootout in New Trailer for Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Written by admin, on Jan 11, 2008 - 15:06

Tom Clancy`s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Trailer 2

A new trailer has just been released for Rainbow Six Vegas 2, which sort of takes off right where the last trailer ended. The cinematic video shows the Rainbow Six team infiltrating a theater and getting into a shootout with terrorists. Yeah, nothing really new to report there, but at least the game looks like it’s sticking to the successful formula of the last game. That release date just can’t come soon enough in my opinion.

Burnout 3 Coming to Xbox Originals

Written by admin, on Jan 10, 2008 - 03:30

burnout3_xbox_front1-1.jpgThe Xbox Live Marketplace hasn’t added any new Xbox Originals since it launched in November, but that’s all going to change this Monday. Burnout 3 is slated become available for download for the usual cost of 1,200 Microsoft Points on January 14th. This is the installment that really set off the Burnout franchise with it’s impressive visuals and sense of breakneck speed. It’s nice to see they’re actually building up this service. Plus they’re actually releasing some of the top titles from the original Xbox first. Unfortunately, it should be noted that the online play for this game will no longer work, since EA has already shut down the servers.

New Teaser Trailer for Stargate Worlds

Stargate Worlds Teaser Trailer

This teaser trailer for Stargate Worlds is, well, just a teaser really. It doesn’t reveal too much about the upcoming MMO based on the popular Stargate franchise, other than the fact that there will be a lot of bizarre alien races duking it out. Hopefully the cheesy dialogue will be kept to a minimum in the full game though. I’d have a tough time playing a character that introduces himself by saying, “We come in peace…wait, no we don’t.” It’s like something Homer Simpson would say.
